1955=;My Grandfather, John at 55, looks on as his Mother, Kate cuts her 80th Birthday cake. Not until this moment did I realize she was 35 when she had her first child -my Grandfather- in 1900. |
Then I came across the picture of my Grandfather (75) standing next to the first great -grand son, whom is being held by his grandfather, next to his Grandmother's brother and my Dad. Uncles to the future generation. Only the baby, now grown with children of his own, and my Dad are still with us. Within the past 12 months we lost both my Uncles but their legacy lives on.
How lucky we are that we have pictures to bring back those wonderful memories captured in time. How blessed we are that Connie is taking the time to link all of us together. I hope all my cousins take the time to look at these pictures and add their own.
My niece has already commented on "PopPop's mustache" . My Dad, who was 48 in that picture, was 2 years younger than my sister is now.
I wonder what my cousin's and nieces' future great grand children will think of us old timers? Will they even care about these precious pictures?
Yes, I truly believe, this sense of Family that is so strong in our generation -will still be there for all those great grands.
Thanks again our Connie.
